1. Check your proportions. Anime proportions aren’t human proportions. Adapt the details to your own body instead of copying them blindly.

2. Choose fabric for how it behaves, not just how it looks. Stretch, wrinkles, structure and durability matter more than a perfect color match.

3. Invest in tools that make your life easier. A good mannequin and sewing machine can be a complete game changer.

4. You don’t have to do everything yourself. Use patterns, ask for help and focus on the skills you actually want to master.
