What I first see upon rising. Books, incense, sweet and fun things, gifted items like plantitas, a disco ball, and a pashmina that belonged to my mom. The newest addition, a beautiful pink Virgencita.

I'm so excited to add her to my bedroom altar and for a new addition to my zine collection! Both are from . They're in town so message them if you are interested in getting some art.

Last year, I created a piece for a traveling show, Circle of Life, for the organization Constellation of Living Memorials. It's on exhibit at EarthX 2026 – North Texas Day Earth Day right now.

The piece is a collage on wood that includes items that belonged to my mom or remind me of her, along with a few photos of me. Visual art is intimidating to me because esa vocecita que te dice que you're not enough is always present. Life requires we step outside of our comfort zone, though, so here's to doing more of this.

My love for the arts was planted as a child by my mom. She loved learning and encouraged us to try new things all the time. Maybe part of it was so she could just catch a break. That's valid.

I never imagined myself immersed in the art world as an adult. We'll, maybe, I daydreamed about it but didn't see that actually happening. Sometimes life gives you exactly what you want. ā¤ļø

The performing arts were NEVER something I thought I'd venture into but here we are. I'm so excited (and nervous) to be a part of Herrera Dance Project's newest production. Look for more updates as we get closer to the summer.

I’ll be presenting at Generation Hope’s HOPE 2026 conference in Dallas today.

My workshop is called: ā€œCreating Balance: Art, Ritual, and Wellness for Student Parents.ā€

We’re keeping it real—simple ways to use art + small rituals to feel a little more grounded in the middle of everything.

If you’re going, come hang out with me for a bit. I'll share the material later this week for those interested.

Coffee and loteria with the seniors.

Huge thanks to Candelaria's Bakery for hosting every month and inviting us to be a part of this.

Gracias ARCO Inspectors for the coffee! It always brings the seniors a smile.

A cup of cafecito made with love and shared with joy is just as comforting for those who serve it as it is for those drinking it.

Be kind to one another and have a lovely week. Remember, comunidad siempre.

For the mujeres standing up for their neighbors, friends, and family. The women sowing seeds of love in the face of hate. The mujeres channeling ancestors and calling on abuela wisdom to create new worlds. I see and celebrate you!
