As our summer internship comes to a close, Connor wrapped up his experience by sharing his capstone research on a Dari Rulai Vairocana Buddha statue from the Ming dynasty with the Crow Museum staff. He then presented his research at the UT Dallas SPUR (Summer Platform for Undergraduate Research) Symposium.

Throughout the summer, Connor gained hands-on experience with collections care, object research, photography, documentation, and more—seeing firsthand how research, preservation, interpretation, and storytelling come together in museum work.

Thank you for following our “A Week in the Life at the Crow Museum” series and joining our interns on their journey. ✨Thank you Connor, for his help with this series!

As our summer internship comes to a close, Naga wrapped up her experience by sharing her capstone research on a seated Buddhist figure of a luohan from the Ming dynasty, circa 1479, with the Crow Museum staff. She then took her research beyond the museum, presenting at the UT Dallas SPUR (Summer Platform for Undergraduate Research) Symposium.

Throughout the summer, Naga gained hands-on experience with collections care, object research, photography, documentation, and more—seeing firsthand how research, preservation, interpretation, and storytelling come together in museum work.

Thank you for following our “A Week in the Life at the Crow Museum” series and joining our interns on their journey. ✨Thank you Naga, for her help with this series!

Stay tuned for Connor's research presentation. 🎥

🎥 A Week in the Life at the Crow Museum | Week 4

This week, follow our summer intern, Connor, as he continues to experience the many sides of museum work—from research and collections care to exhibition preparation.

Throughout the week, Connor researched the Dari Rulai, Cosmic Buddha, statue from the museum's collection, attended a photoshoot of a 19th-century Burmese "Disciple of the Buddha" for documentation, assisted with hands-on collections projects, and observed the installation of a salt brick bench in "The Hedge of Halomancy" exhibition, which opens August 29!

One of the best parts of our museum internship is learning how every department works together. Whether preserving works of art, conducting research, or supporting exhibitions, each project contributes to how the Crow Museum cares for our collections and shares these stories with our community.

Follow along throughout the summer as our interns grow professionally, explore the many paths within museum work, and share what they're learning behind the scenes at the Crow Museum.
