Art of VIII School of Dance

Art of VIII School of Dance Art of VIII is the safe place for adults to learn dance, exercise courage, and enhance their overall health.

We believe in the power of self-love and self-care through movement and our time together is all about you—nourishing your soul, body, and mind.

We have watched you arrive tired and leave restored.

We have seen the uncertain steps become confident movement, the choreography settle into your bodies and the joy return to your faces when the music begins.

We see the journey, not only the final performance. We see every correction, every repetition and every moment you choose to keep going.

Soon, the audience will see what we have had the privilege of witnessing all season: you becoming more fully yourself through dance.

The performance begins long before the curtain opens.

It begins with learning the choreography, building the stamina, taking the corrections and returning to the same movement until it finally feels like their own.

Our dancers are giving their time, energy and hearts to prepare for this stage. Every rehearsal brings them one step closer to the moment they have been working toward.

Come celebrate their effort and witness the result. Get your tickets at the link in our bio. ✨

Yes, the studio is a whole vibe, but it is the people who make it feel like home.

This is a community where adults are welcomed as they are, encouraged as they learn and celebrated every time they choose to keep going. Right now, our dancers are preparing for SOAR and putting months of work into the moment they step onto the stage.

Come see what they have been working toward. And who knows? This season, you may be in the audience. Next season, it could be you.

There is no expiration date on the part of you that still wants to dance.

No deadline for returning to the studio. No age limit on stepping into the spotlight. No rule that says the stage belongs only to the younger version of you.

This season, our dancers are choosing the dream again, and they are bringing it to life at SOAR.

This is what an hour looks like when a group learns something together for the first time.

Most of them have never danced. By minute twenty they have an eight count. By minute forty they stop thinking about looking correct and start actually moving, and that is when the sound in the room changes.

We have been teaching adults for seventeen years, which means we know exactly how to build an hour for people who are starting from the beginning. Your own room. Your own instructor. Your people and nobody else.

Bring the group that keeps saying you should all do something 🩰

For months, they have been arriving after work, showing up through tired evenings, learning the counts, repeating the combinations and trying again.

Little by little, the movement became more certain. The choreography became their own. And the stage began to feel less like a distant dream and more like somewhere they belong.

Soon, they will leave the studio behind, step into the spotlight and show you what all that preparation made possible.

Most people come here for the dancing. They stay for the woman who saves them a spot at the barre.

For the group chat that will not stop.
For the person who noticed they were quiet on Tuesday and asked about it on Thursday.

Adults do not make new friends easily. Calendars are full, and everybody is polite, and nobody wants to be the one who suggests coffee.

Something about a room where everyone is a little bad at something together seems to fix that.

You will learn to dance here. You will also stop being lonely. We are not sure which one surprises people more.

Adults only. Seven disciplines. One very full room.

You belong here, exactly as you are.❤️

Once a year we rent a real theater. And then we hand the stage to adults who were told, somewhere along the way, that their dancing years were behind them.

That is SOAR.

Every performer in it has a job, a commute, and a reason they almost did not sign up. They rehearse on weeknights when it would be easier to go home. In October they walk out under those lights and do the thing anyway.

You do not need to know a dancer to come. You need one evening and a willingness to watch grown people be brave in front of you.
