Did you know Cedar Valley campus is one of only two Dallas College locations that offer printmaking? In celebration, Cedar Valley’s secondary space, the Sol Gallery, exhibits “Pulled Together”— a printmaking exchange connecting students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Made from the hard work of the CVC Printmaking Department from Spring 2025 through Spring 2026.
 
The exhibition features themed exchange portfolios centered around bookmarks and artist-designed currency. Through acts of exchange, repetition, and collaboration, the works highlight printmaking as a medium of circulation, experimentation, and shared creative experience, reflecting the ways artistic dialogue can build community across campus.

📣CALLING DFW-BASED ARTISTS AND CREATIVES!📣 We’re launching a call for proposals in consideration of our Spring 2027 and Fall 2027 exhibition programming. These shows will be displayed at our campus galleries located all around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. 

We’re looking for professional artists with a cohesive body of work that will inspire our Dallas College community. Artists must be available to attend their reception in-person, and give a short Artist Talk for our Visual Arts students and reception attendees. We encourage group/collaborative exhibits, educational and experimental bodies of work, mediums of all types, and artists outside and within our Dallas College community. We aim to be a vital component of the academic and cultural life of Dallas College, with programming that both supports our classroom instruction and engages the community.

Not quite ready to show with us? Our proposal calls roll through the year. You’re welcome to submit a proposal at any time. 👀✍️Do you make art on your own time? ⏰🎨 Our Dallas College employees sure do! View the amazing visual talents of our DC community on display at the Dallas College Bill J. Priest Center!
 
 On My Own Time is a trademarked, region-wide employee arts competition that offers employees the chance to share their literary and artistic talents, celebrating all their unique talents through a company-wide show and competitions! OMOT celebrates all mediums of art and writing styles and encourages everyone to participate from beginners to experienced creators and writers.
 
This exhibition was made in partnership with the Business Council for the Arts (BCA). Selected pieces from this show will move forward to be exhibited at NorthPark Center for a state-wide competition.

Today we are highlighting the work of Dallas College North Lake campus alumna, Junko Otsu! Born in Ibusuki, Japan, Otsu merges her experiences and love for Japanese and Western culture creating paintings working in a variety of kinetic and abstract styles. From her artist bio she states, “There is a Japanese proverb Yohaku no Bi (Beauty of the Blank Space). Japanese think the blank space in the painting has and signifies something more to the viewer. So that I think the blank space in the painting is also important, because people can imagine, think, feel, something more through the blank space in the painting.” Check out a variety of her work as part of our permanent collection on display at Northlake campus!
