CALLING ALL INDIE TEAMS AND COMEDY DUOS! 🥊

The SG Throwdown is back - and we want you in the bracket.

Nine shows. Two teams going head-to-head each night. The audience votes for the winner. One team takes the championship.

This is a great opportunity for indie teams or aspiring teams to get their show in front of a roaring, ready-to-rage audience. Many teams even go on to land a mainstage or festival spot!

"The folks at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater have a knack for tickling funny bones, with improvised musicals, movie spoofs and other shows. For ¡ESCÁNDALO! — THE IMPROVISED TELENOVELA, they’re welcoming an award-winning cast from Austin for two evenings of improvised comedy and melodrama.

The group will rely on audience suggestions to build a brand-new, passion-filled telenovela, a type of serialized TV drama popular in Latin America, similar to a soap opera. The BYOB show will be primarily in English, with some Spanish peppered throughout. It’s rated T for Teen/13+, and parental discretion is advised."

June 19-20 at 9PM at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater (in the Dallas Design District). $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

🚀 Indie Improv & Musical Improv Teams
Want to get your group in front of an audience? Stomping Ground’s Extra Credit is designed to provide a platform for new and existing teams to present a complete 15-20 minute, intentional show on a real stage for a real audience.

⚡ Thunderdome
Step into the arena for Stomping Ground's Thunderdome, our most epic, monthly competition-style improv show. In our upcoming workshop on Saturday, May 30 at 3:00PM, learn the show’s short form games, and the mindset of “competing as a character while supporting as an improviser.” Students who complete this workshop will be eligible to submit to perform in Thunderdome, held the first Friday of every month at 9:00PM.
