Last night, I heard comedian Josh Johnson talk about how we all know things in America are getting worse—politically, socially—and yet… most of us keep moving through our days like nothing can be done.

This morning, I woke up still thinking about that.
When will enough be enough?
Would we even recognize that moment when it comes?

I pulled out my iPad and poured my anxiety into this piece—part protest, part personal journal entry. The woman is me, holding that question up to myself as much as to the viewer. The scattered headlines are ones that still make my stomach turn. The red dress is urgency incarnate.

This is a meditation on that threshold between outrage and action—on the quiet question humming under our breath: How much more can we take before we move?

FYI I don’t argue with climate change deniers because we are all frogs in the same pot. I don’t care to argue with them about if the water is starting to boil or not.

Hidden Messages ✨

Some stories aren’t lost — just hidden.
Beneath noise, assumptions, and what we’ve been told to see.

This piece explores what it means to have your identity framed yet obscured — while your true self waits to be seen.

⭐️New Artwork: Hidden Messages

Some stories aren’t lost — they’re just hidden.
Beneath the noise, beneath assumptions, beneath what we’ve been told to see.

This new piece explores what it means to have your identity framed and yet obscured — by history, by expectations, by others’ projections — while your true essence waits, quietly, to be seen.

I created Hidden Messages as a reminder that even when voices are silenced, they remain powerful, alive, and worthy of being uncovered.

“A Freedom Deferred”

In honor of Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is important to note and never forget that while it’s a significant date marking the end of slavery in the United States, it didn’t immediately or single-handedly end slavery nationwide.

Happy Juneteenth, beautiful people! ✨✨✨

“A Decision to Float” has officially found her new home with a beloved artist friend in California who’s now become a collector.

It brings me so much joy to know that this deeply personal piece resonated with someone I love and admire. Moments like these remind me why I paint, not just to express, but to connect.

I’m endlessly grateful that my work continues to find the people who need it most.
And I hope I’m blessed to keep creating art that meets people where they are and helps them feel just a little more seen.

If you’ve been moved by this piece or any part of her story, know that there’s more where that came from. I’m just getting started. ✨

You can love a country and still cry for it.
That’s the tension I sit with today.

As a Nigerian immigrant, I grew up believing in the promise of America — freedom, opportunity, justice. I still hold onto that hope, even when it’s hard.

I created this piece for Memorial Day, to honor those who gave everything in service. But also to acknowledge the quieter, ongoing losses — the ones that don’t always make headlines, but shape us all the same.

The flag behind her carries pride and weight. The tear carries grief and resilience. This is how I remember.

Because remembrance isn’t just looking back — it’s holding space for what could still be.
