Lead-Tin Yellow Light x Prussian Blue

Lighter versions of Lead-Tin Yellow are made by heating roughly 3 parts Lead Oxide and 1 part Tin Oxide to 800 degrees Celcius. When heated together a chemical reaction occurs, creating Lead Stannate. It is an opaque and lightfast color.

The blends were tinted with Titanium White.

Tint = color + white
Tone = color + gray
Shade = color + black

Chromatic Black = Green Gold + Magenta + Phthalo Blue

In addition to complementary darkening (mixing complementary colors to get a darker neutral color), mixing paint in general is subtractive color mixing. Unlike light, where you get white when you add colors together (additive color mixing), subtractive color mixing results in darker colors because more light is being filtered through physical materials (i.e. paint).
