Uptown Players announces auditions for the hit musical Come from Away, which runs April 30 through May 9, 2027 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. Set in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, this Tony Award-winning musical tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded airline passengers and the small Newfoundland town that opened its hearts and homes to welcome them. Through a vibrant, fast-paced folk-rock score, a versatile ensemble of actors portrays both locals and travelers as they find hope, humanity, and unexpected connections in the midst of tragedy.

All roles are open to both equity and non-equity actors of all ethnicities. Our casting seeks to be as inclusive as possible. There are three LOA/LORT principal equity contracts available for this production. The production is under the direction of Emerson Collins, with musical direction by Vonda K. Bowling and choreography by Alli Betsill.

Vocal auditions will be by appointment only on October 3 from 10am to 6pm. Please prepare 16-32 bar cuts of two contrasting selections in the style of the show. Singing from the show for one of your selections is acceptable.
Movement callbacks will be held the afternoon of October 4 from 1p-5p.
Additional callbacks will take place on Monday October 5 from 6pm to 1030pm.

A headshot and resume are required. Video submissions will not be accepted. For complete audition information, character descriptions, and to schedule an appointment, visit uptownplayers.org/auditions
