If only our eyes could take photos…

A thought I’d have most days. Wishing that I didn’t waste the seconds to grab my camera and make sure the settings are right and that I could just “snap” in real time.

The human eye is an organ with over 200 million working parts, processing images at a rate equivalent to 60 frames per second. Way faster than any camera’s shutter speed.

If our eyes could take photos, every second could be captured, uninterrupted. I don’t think there would be a scrapbook big enough for all the photos I’d take.

So when I go to a photoshoot, I remember the eyes. I read them and follow them.

Raising boys and cattle is not easy.

It takes someone with lots of patience. Someone who is quick, not only on their feet but with their whit; always having to be two steps ahead. Someone who can handle early mornings and long days.

It takes someone like

These photos are one afternoon feeding cows. Lots of movement, chaos and fun. Just one of the many chores the Graff family has to do to keep the ranch going.

Raising rough, tough and hard working boys, it’s not an easy job. Joy is constantly adapting to what’s happening and adjusting to the proper coarse. Something that can go unnoticed and not talked about, but I’d love to shed some light on through these photos:

From dusting them off after they fall, to chasing them as they run to danger. Trying to get the job done in the process but also let them learn to do the job themselves. There’s a balance in there.

Can’t get over how care free and happy these came out. Once Lynley touched the sand, she was home. I just followed her around as we walked and talked.

Running around the beach with her, you could tell just how smitten she is 🤍 counting shells till the day she says “I do”

I know I’m late to this trend but I wouldn’t be a mom if I wasn’t late to the trends.

2016 was such a monumental year for me, it felt wrong that I hadn’t paid tribute to the year that brought me here. I’m so happy with where I’m at, not just in my career but also my personal life.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me through the years.
