WHERE HAVE WE BEEN? Well, life interrupts all sorts of plans but sometimes for the greater good.. changes are made, work is rethought and reconfigured, then some things are just let go of no matter how good they were...for something entirely and suddenly different. All that to say Historical Drama turned a corner in 2019 and realized it wasn't going to return to it's former operations. All of it's shows and characters and costumes went into a sort of time capsulated closet becoming like hidden treasure in a treasure chest. After parting with 2/3rd's of my inventory, I locked away the rest not knowing what I have been needing to do with it or when. But I would say I am getting close...close to finally repurposing the "fabricated stories" all these items of clothing and accessories have told, for they have been privy to some of the most wonderful actors and actresses on many theatre stages and sets. STAY TUNED for what's in store...everything 1800's to 1940's is attempting to resurface...

Our Story

Historical Drama has evolved over the years from a beginning that was primarily a costume shop and freelance wardrobe business involved with costuming period theatrical productions. My love for everything vintage found its niche. There has been no shortage of fine historical productions to design and create for, we specialize in everything from the 1800’s thru the 1940’s, creating authentic original garments, remodeling others, and/or I find good quality accurate reproductions to work with. Recently we have extended our work pallette to include historical photographic studies which incorporate period fashions and visual storytelling... creating a theatrical mood on paper through still shots. Look for the upcoming page “Art and History Modified” which will encompass these works in progress.
