Thank you all for the 43 years of wonderful memories!

****************************************************

White Rock Skate Center is a children and family oriented roller skating rink located in the Lake Highlands area of Northeast Dallas. Both inline and regular skates are allowed to be brought in and are available for rental. We have been in business in the same location since 1973. Many who

skated with us and had their birthday parties here when they were young are now bringing their children in for parties. All of our public sessions are open to all ages. Afternoon sessions are primarily for children and parents. Evening sessions are mostly 9-14 year olds.

Thank you so much Kelly Clarkson, Jason Halbert, and the entire TKCS crew for such a wonderful version of this song and for allowing us a place to share a story that means so much to us!! 🎶🌻

Did you catch the Kelly Clarkson Show Tuesday? During the program, Kelly sang Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” at the request of Lake Highlands High 2004 grad Leslie Connor. After the performance, she asked why Leslie loved the song. Leslie explained that her grandfather, Charles, built White Rock Ska...

Does this song catch anyone else’s attention everytime this ad comes on? Sure makes me miss that giant circle and those crazy birthday balloon hats!! 🎈🎶

If you follow the instructions to the "Hokey Pokey" song, you might find that exercising and staying fit are as easy as putting your right arm in and bringing it back out. Listen to the song a bit more and you'll find dancers who feel encouraged to shake it all around. With the Apple Watch Series 4....

Well.... the day has come. White Rock Skate Center officially closed its doors one year ago today, on Sunday, October 16, 2016.

Tonight, we honor Chuck, the true heartbeat of the skating rink. We also wanted to share something Chuck’s daughter Leslie wrote last year:

“‘Twas the night before closing,
When all through big D.
The people were asking,
"OH! How could it be?!"

The signs were all posted.
The people, they knew.
The line would be long.
So tough to get through.

The smell, the pictures,
memorabilia too.
They weren't quite sure
What tomorrow, they'd do.

Come Monday, it's different.
White Rock Skate would be closed.
But Chuck gets to retire!
(And he isn't opposed).

One more session, it's on!
See you at 1 o'clock!
One last Hurrah!
Thanks for skating at White Rock!”

Day 7 in this countdown to... tomorrow.

Tonight, we’d like to thank the group that stuck with us until the bitter end. This photo was taken after the very last Friday night session White Rock Skate ever had. We miss seeing your smiling faces every weekend, but are so very thankful for your hard work and dedication. We may be in different cities or states and at different jobs now, but we think of you guys often and are sending our love today, and everyday. ❤️

Day 6 in the countdown to October 16th and today we’d like to honor Austin and Sarah on their wedding day. Austin worked for us for many, many years and we are so thrilled for you. You look wonderful, and Sarah is just beautiful! Here they are pictured with Chuck and his wife, Laura.

(Isn’t her dress stunning?)

Yesterday was day 5 of this countdown to October 16th. We dropped the ball on posting, but didn’t want to skip it, so here goes:

On day 5, we’d like to share a photo of JulieAnn, Mason, and SarahLyn with Chuck. We’ve had several sibling pairs work for us through the years, but this was the first (and only) sibling trio. We are so thankful for the Coker family. They made such a huge impact on the rink, their coworkers, our customers, and most importantly, us. They definitely prove that family isn’t always blood.

Thank you for all you’ve done for us.

Day 4 of the countdown to October 16:

Ever wonder who is responsible for the wonderfulness that was White Rock Skate Center?

Well, you know Chuck... here he is pictured with (from left to right): his sister Cathy, his father Charles (the man who built WRSC), Chuck (Lord of the Rink), his wife Laura, and his mother Betty.
