During the hottest months of the year, Broadway Dallas kept cool at camp, hosting three two-week summer camps for elementary, middle, and high school students.
Partnering with MLK Academy, Dallas ISD, State Fair of Texas, and Forest Forward, the elementary and middle school camps put on THE WIZARD OF OZ, with the help of professional teaching artists and certified teachers. Over two camp sessions, more than 100 students auditioned, memorized dialogue, learned music, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
And in its inaugural year, the high school campers put on two hilarious performances of A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, also helmed by DISD teachers and professional teaching artists. The high school show hopes to make its way to the Texas Thespians Conference at the end of fall 2026 and give the summer campers a chance to step into those roles one more time!
Broadway Dallas subsidizes camp for students, creating equitable access to high quality arts instruction, regardless of financial status. One parent called it “the camp of dreams.”
