Being primarily an acrylic painter, I find that color packs a punch in elevating a mood to a space. Art is a powerful tool that should transport a space from drab to excitement with movement coupled with subtle hints of texture. Graphic motifs juxtaposed to brilliant organic shapes add an element of intrigue. I suppose my body of work says a lot about who I am, a designer, an adventurer, and a lov
er of life. Growing up in El Paso, Texas, I was inspired by creations of my family’s legacy of glass artisans. As a creative soul, I obtained a degree in Interior Design while minoring in Art at TCU in 1981. Upon graduation I married a Dallasite and moved to Dallas, TX. I worked in the design industry for ten years before we had our first child. Soon after our daughter was born, I discovered my passion and talent for art through adversity. Undaunted after a bone marrow transplant, I started to hone my art skills. There was an art studio nearby where I began my painting skills in oils and acrylics. Although college taught me perspective drawing and watercolor rendering, I learned a great deal in eight years from this Dallas based studio. Today, twenty-five years later, and many gallery shows, I have garnered many commissions and sales from National to International. My clients include Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cabo San Lucas, Independent Bank, and Bent Tree Family Physicians. I love painting and plan to do it for years to come.
