Think you can’t dance? Miyuki thought the same thing.
Miyuki is visually impaired. Before We Can Dance, she had never danced Kizomba, Bachata, or any partner dance.
Her first day in class, she said, “I cannot dance.”
Today, Miyuki dances, believes in herself, and looks forward to seeing friends like Rosa in class.
That is what happens when people are given the opportunity to learn, connect, and belong.
If we can get Miyuki dancing, we can get you dancing too.

“I never thought I would dance again…”
Before becoming visually impaired, Kenneth was a seasoned Kizomba, Salsa, and Bachata dancer in Atlanta. Dance was already part of his life, but after his sight was seriously affected, returning to the dance floor seemed uncertain.

In 2025, through We Can Dance, Kenneth found a way to dance again, not by trying to recreate how he danced before, but by discovering new ways to experience movement, partnership, trust, and connection beyond sight.

His story is a powerful reminder of why inclusion matters. Accessibility creates possibilities. When barriers are removed, people can reconnect with what they love, rediscover confidence, experience belonging, and continue sharing their talents with their community.
At Dance in the Dark: Groove to Give Festival, blind, visually impaired, and sighted people will come together through accessible dance workshops, including opportunities for sighted, and visually impaired participants with light perception to learn while blindfolded.

Dance Belongs to Everyone. You may fall in love with the music, the connection, and how it makes you feel.
