A Proper Pairing

Last year I painted the 12x12 canvas using hot glue for raised texture, medical exam paper for the textured surface, and acrylic paint for the painting. In January of 2026 I had an empty wine bottle that had a clean, smooth surface that I wanted to use for some project. Then in July my inspiration hit to pair it with the painting I did earlier. I first drew on the glass surface with a Posca acrylic paint pen, waited for the paint to dry, and used hot glue to trace over the surface. When that had cooled and was fast adhered to glass I covered the entire bottle with small pieces of medical exam paper glued on with Mod Podge. When everything was dry I added the acrylic paint to match the painting.

Coffee with Reilly

Every opportunity I have to spend quality time with my daughter is incredibly special. During a discussion about evolving my artistic style and broadening my experience, Reilly suggested I focus on painting what brings me joy. Taking her advice, I used a photo of our dining table as my subject. Reilly loved the piece, and I shared with her that creating it made me truly happy.

Meet Sammy, the official golden boy of The Ridge! If you've walked through the neighborhood, you have likely been greeted by his signature smile. He loves to stop and socialize, bringing sunshine to everyone he meets. When I met him, I knew I just had to capture that joyful spirit on canvas.

Strawberry at Sunset

Even though I now live in the Dallas suburb of Wylie, TX I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and spent many summers in the strawberry fields. This is an homage to the days I ate more berries than put into my berry flat. I still love strawberries, even now in my sunset years (I'm 73 y.o.). This piece is a 2.5 X 3.5 inch miniature acrylic painted on mixedmedia paper.
