Welcome to our Friday . Sharing a bit of the lives and traditions of the Cualtzin rural artisans 🌺🌸
A beautiful “quinceañera” (i.e. Sweet Fifteen = Sweet Sixteen) posing for a picture with her “chambelanes” (dancers). The quinceañera is wearing a beautiful dress, hand embroidered with flowers. The chambelanes are also matching the quinceañera’s dress with guayabera shirts with embroidered flowers.
A typical hand embroidered quinceanera dress takes several months to make. Usually one artisans creates the full dress; but sometimes one or two help with the project, and they do a brilliant crafted work.
