This handwoven scarf for Julie is the last item that I wove on my loom before selling it to its new owner for her next adventure. I do hope to own a loom of my own again someday, perhaps even someday relatively soon, but for now I am focusing elsewhere.
The scarf pictured here turned out really lovely. The warp is mostly unlabeled stash merino with a bit of Magpie sprinkled in. The weft is Gist Yarnβs baby alpaca in a soft heather green. I drew my coworker Julie for our McKinney Knittery staff holiday party and knew Iβd like to take my 1964 Lerclerc for one more βrideβ before selling.
Taylor and I just moved into a new apartment in Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado. We are settling into a new place, making a home, creating new rhythms and habits, exploring our new environment, and making connections in our new community. For now, that is taking all of our energy.
