Possibly a hot take. Also excuse my bad lighting 🙏🏻

Perfect accuracy can be a fun challenge for some cosplays and some instances! But in the case of casual it also leads to a lot of identical looks and a lot less creativity. Characters were made to be interpreted. Bringing them to life in the way you see them is so much fun and allows you to make your cosplay truly yours.

I appreciate the need for screen accuracy in some circumstances and respect the dedication and attention to detail it takes - I’m very picky about my Weird Al’s! But I also think the community as a whole needs to move away from the idea of perfect accuracy being the rubric for what makes a good cosplay.

(Tbh one of the reasons I love Vocaloid and MLP cosplayers - no two are ever the exact same! ❤️)
