We’re continuing our celebration of the artists whose work received special recognition in Women in Art – Revealing Our Magnificence.

Today we’re highlighting one of our Honorable Mention recipients, Paulina Altamirano.
Her piece is entitled, “Where the Light Breathes”
Hand Embroidery on Cotton Canvas with Glass Beads, 14 x 14 in.

Combining intricate embroidery and glass beadwork, Paulina’s portrait radiates warmth, vulnerability, and inner strength.

She describes the work as:
“A celebration of the expressive power, beauty, and authenticity of being a woman.”

With eyes gently closed and hair moving freely, the figure embodies a quiet confidence and a profound connection to self. Every stitch becomes an act of honoring the light that exists within each of us.
