#327… Do we need a
checkup ???

I was blessed to witness something not seen rarely this past Sunday. It was an elderly 80 year old woman and a young 17 year old young man getting baptized. Now we are taught that baptism is a public sign that announces to the world that we have accepted JESUS as our personal SAVIOR. The old man dies and the new man lives.

What made this baptism so significant was that both the 80 year woman and the 17 year old young man realized they THOUGHT they had a personal relationship with JESUS years ago but really they didn’t understand and were wrong. So now since they now understood they truly accepted JESUS as their personal SAVIOR and were baptized again.

What if they had never understood ??? 🤔 They would have continued their lives thinking they were GOD’s child when they were NOT.

Thank GOD for checkups !!! Do you truly know you are a child of GOD beyond a shadow of a doubt ??? Let’s all do a checkup now !!!

Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 6: going under the water, we are "buried with him by baptism into death"; coming up, we rise "even so we also should walk in newness of life."

#325… Whom is first for us ?

Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Exodus 20:3: You shall have no other gods before me.

Mark 12:30: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Colossians 3:17: And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

The Christian life is not about being perfect, we will never be able to obtain perfection; but about following JESUS one step at a time.

One step is making sure we put HIM first and foremost in our lives. The scripture above tells us how to do that.

devil ???

Luke 15:12–13: The younger son asks for his inheritance, moves to a far country, and wastes his money on wild living.

Luke 15:14–16: A famine hits, he becomes very poor, and he ends up feeding pigs just to survive.

Luke 15:17–19: He realizes his mistake, decides to go back to his father, and plans to ask to be treated just like a hired worker.

Luke 15:21–24: The son confesses his sin. Instead of punishing him, the father gives him a robe, a ring, and shoes, saying, "This son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found".

Isn’t it just like our wonderful FATHER in HEAVEN that shows us so much grace, mercy, forgiveness and compassion when we cause HIM so much disobedience and trouble !!!

1 Peter 5:7: "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Psalm 55:22: "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."

Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Letting go is very difficult for us humans because we want to fix things our way…but our way is not always GOD’s way and HIS way is the best for us so we must “let it go” and trust GOD.

#319….Are you weak ???

Do you ever wonder how people that don’t know JESUS as their personal SAVIOR make it in this world ? I’m not talking about trying to be a good person, attending services every week or donating to a special cause or even remembering Grandma’s praying or reading from her BIBLE.

Galatians 2:20
“I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.”

2 Thessalonians 1:10
“When He comes to be glorified in His saints and to be marveled at in all those who have believed.”

2 Corinthians 4:6-7—
“Because the God who said, Out of darkness light shall shine, is the One who shined in our hearts to illuminate the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God and not out of us.”

Not living with CHRIST in and with us should scare the hell (literally) out of us !!! For without CHRIST that’s exactly where we will spend eternity.

With everything going on in our world today how do we live ? No hope, no reassurance, no promises ?🧐

Some may say having belief and trust in JESUS and HIM living in us is weak…. but I argue with you which is weaker …choosing NOT to believe and trust in something we can’t see OR believing and trusting in something we can’t see ???
