Who are we? Let's go back a bit. Publisher Juliet Rose decided to form Above the Rain after negative experiences with predatory publishers as an author. She decided she wanted to create a publishing house that put authors first and developed Above the Rain as a co-op style publisher. A place where authors could learn and grow, helping one another with areas they either had strengths in or struggle in. All authors who come into AtRC are vetted by Juliet and DZ Hollow prior to acceptance.

Once accepted, the process is one where we come together as a team and help the author put out their best work. Juliet is a certified editior with the Poynter Institute and DZ and Juliet are both experts at using Atticus for formatting.

Here's the thing. As a co-op, the author retains all rights and control of their work. They still go through the rigorous process to make sure their book is ready for the world, but AtRC insists the author reaps the rewards. We aren't looking to profit off an author's hard work. Our goal is to lift authors we believe in.

That being said, we are happy that Desiree Horton has joined us with three of her previously published works!

Free today through Dec 21. This is a part of the Chain Narratives, a trilogy exploring the fallout of addiction from different characters affected by one person's addiction journey. The three books are interlinked but each can be read as a stand alone or out of order as the goal was to show how addiction affects more than the addict. Genre: LGBTQ social fiction. Deals with addiction, family trauma, police brutality, church abuse/conversion therapy, and the power of friendship.

Looking for something to do for the next few days? The whole Chain Narratives Trilogy is free for the next 5 days! These are interlinked books but also can be read as standalones as each one takes a different perspective on the fall out of addiction and mental illness. However, if read as a series they are pictured chronologically. The last book also deals with police/church brutality and conversion therapy as abuse. LlNK to my author pages with books in comments.
