🎨 From “Meh…” to MASTERPIECE! 🏔️

Every great makeover starts with a blank canvas. In this case, it was a very blank wall in the billiard room at the Lumpkin County Senior Life Enrichment Center. 😏
Earlier this year, staff were talking about ways to make the room a little more inviting when one of our UNG student interns suggested a brilliant idea: Why not have her friend paint a mural?

Enter Kelsey Brown, UNG art student and mural magician! 🎨✨
Kelsey met with the center manager, helped develop a plan and presented models of her artwork. Then she rolled up her sleeves and got to work.
10 days. 74 hours. One very impressive wall.

The result? A stunning mountain scene complete with a flowing stream, wildlife and all the beauty of the North Georgia outdoors — right inside the billiard room. 🌲🦌🏔️

And the best part? Kelsey graciously volunteered her time and talent to make it happen.

Our seniors now have a beautiful piece of art to enjoy for years to come — and let's be honest, that blank wall never stood a chance. 😉

One of the Smoky Mountains’ most magical stops is “Santa’s Land” in the mountain town of Cherokee, North Carolina…where you’ll find Christmas fun tucked into the mountains with rides, animals, shops, and Santa himself. Families can stop by Santa’s cabin, climb aboard the Santa’s Express train, take a spin on the Ferris wheel and carousel, or ride the reindeer-themed Rudicoaster. There are also games, shows, paddle boats, and areas where younger visitors can get close to animals. The zoo adds even more to see, including bears, deer, kangaroos, lemurs, birds, and other animals. Grab a burger, pizza, or a piece of fudge before wandering through the Christmas-themed gift shops. Santa’s Land first opened in June 1966, making 2026 its 60th season of welcoming families to the Smokies. The park sits about three miles east of Cherokee, close to the southern entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and is generally open seasonally from mid-May through late October.

The secret is finally out… 🎉

I’m so excited to officially announce the next chapter of Sweets By Caroline… I’m opening my very own farm stand! 🤍🍪🍰

The farm stand will be located in the parking lot of Gourmet Goodies, making it easy to stop by for your favorite homemade treats throughout the week—not just on market days!

A huge thank you to Gourmet Goodies for believing in my business and giving me this incredible opportunity. Your support means more than you know, and I’m so grateful.

I also want to thank each and every one of you. Every order, share, and word of encouragement has helped make this dream possible. I truly couldn’t have done it without you.

The goal is to have the farm stand open within the next month! I’ll be sharing updates along the way, including the official opening date as soon as everything is ready.

I can’t wait to welcome you all to the Sweets By Caroline Farm Stand! This is what the farm stand looks like! 🤍 It still has a few finishing touches, but I’ll be decorating it with flowers, welcome signs, and lots of Sweets By Caroline charm. I can’t wait for you all to see the finished setup!
