Stunning. Thought-provoking. Powerful. Wonderfully conversational within the exhibit. These were words and phrases floating around our newest Arborescent exhibition reception last evening. We agreed and were truly grateful for the responses, and thank everyone who attended! π π β€οΈ
Photographic artist Kathleen Massi's series "Still, Unstill" speaks about the interval between the rootedness and movement of trees. Using techniques including intentional camera movement and double exposure, Kathleen's photographs present trees as they become animated by wind, light, changes of season, and passage of time.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, painter Donna Corvi draws inspiration from the natural environment, with particular interest in the abstraction of trees and branches at their different stages of growth throughout the seasons.
