The Custer Area Arts Council is proud to partner with the Custer County Library to bring the Salida Circus to our community as part of this year's Summer Reading Kickoff! 🤹

Join us on Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the Custer School Armory for an evening of imagination, laughter, and family fun. This free community event for all ages features giant bubbles, juggling, tight-wire acts, audience participation, and plenty of circus magic.

We love supporting opportunities that inspire creativity, spark curiosity, and bring people together. Gather the family and help us kick off a summer filled with reading, learning, and imagination. 👉 Admission is free. We hope to see you there!

This Sunday, join us on the lawn at the 1881 Courthouse Museum as we kick off our Summer Music Series with live music from Wild Blue Band!

Come chill on the lawn for great tunes, tasty food, and a fun summer afternoon in downtown Custer. Wild Blue takes the stage at 3:00 PM, and Yoyo Hibachi Food Truck will be on site serving up delicious food throughout the event.

Bring a blanket, bring a chair, bring a friend—and don't forget your dancing shoes! Beer and wine will be available for purchase, and the event is family and leashed pet friendly.

Best of all, it's FREE and open to the public. We hope you'll join us for a great afternoon of music, community, and summertime fun in downtown Custer, SD!

Have you noticed? The bison herd has returned to downtown Custer.

The Custer Area Arts Council would like to extend a special thank you to the crew who helped trailer, place, and set up the artwork throughout town: Brian Brown, Amelia Brown, Lisa Bausell, Cynthia Graham, Kayla Andrews, David Andrews, and Todd Caviness.

We would also like to give a very special thank you to Colleen Hennessy, owner of the herd, for so generously sharing these beautiful art pieces with our community. We appreciate the opportunity for residents and visitors alike to enjoy them throughout the summer season in Custer, South Dakota.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and love of community will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also take a quiet moment of gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave their all.
