I'm not much of a social media person. And I have been busy, just not posting. Lots of things going on and a change coming up! But to let you know Head for the Hills Art will be a vendor once again this year at The Festival in the Park in Spearfish, SD July 18-20, 2025. I have been busy sewing up garments with botanical prints, some of which are pictured.

Broken vase flower mosaic on framed glass, grouted between vase/glass pieces. Size about 14" by 22". Soooo good to get back to mosaics. Commission piece. Loved every minute of this challenging piece. Was hoping it did not look like a bunch of broken glass vase pieces just glued together haphazardly.

Feeling grateful. I had my second surgery 2 days ago. Sacroiliac joint fusion, this time on the left side. Time to rest and recover. As well as dream and plan. Lots of new mosaics to come as well as botanical printing and dyeing. I am hopeful, cautiously, but really hopeful I will be able to walk all over the place and bicycle and spend hours outside, everything my little heart desires, like I used to. I am getting stronger everyday, both physically and gumption wise! (along with bouts of feeling sorry for myself.) Grateful for friends, my husband, 3 fantastic daughters and their spouses, grandchildren, creativity, home, my bicycle!, gardening, the beautiful Black Hills, excellent doctors and caregivers. So many things...

Natural dyes from my garden. Always wanted to do this. Hollyhock dark flowers (thanks Camille for the plants a few years back!) and Marigold flowers and Marigold green tops.
And a few Merino Wool shawls I botanically printed and dyed.

There has been a major slow down on "creation" around here. All of June we were gone working for a non-profit in Idaho and then on July 21 I had surgery, SI joint fusion. A summer of down time to recover and rejuvenate and explore new and old creative endeavors. With no pressures or expectations except to heal. Friday I will start to put weight on my right side again and see how this fusion is going to work for me. Over 8 years of chronic pain...hopefully is turning around for me. Thanks to all the medical people who have helped along the way. Take care everyone and appreciate the little things.
