Can I donate this?

I get this question a lot, and we’ve been seeing a lot of new faces here at Crystal closet so I wanted to do an update on the types of clothing donations we accept.

We take women’s clothing, men’s clothing, and youth clothing size 6X and up.

We take pants, shirts, shoes, jackets, shoes, and boots, and hats and mittens. We also accept items like Halloween, costumes, formal dresses, purses, bags, and suit cases.

We do not take household items, decorations, food, kitchen items, bedding, curtains, pillows, blankets, toys, or anything else that isn’t clothing.

No undergarments!

Clothing should be clean and in good condition without damage, stain, holes, odors, or hair/fur.

I currently have over 100 bags of unusable clothing, bedding and curtains that had to be sorted, bagged, and recycled. This is time consuming and unsustainable, so please, if you wouldn’t gift it to a friend please leave it out of your donation bags!

We’ll be open this Sunday Aug 16th with extended hours from 11am-4pm during Cushing Fun Days!

We will be taking donations with a limit of 2 bags per family, but it can be any season! In September we’ll transition to fall/winter clothing.

We can be hard to find but Google Maps will take you there, just search Crystal’s Closet! There’s a new sign at the top of the driveway. We are on the 2nd floor of the Cushing Community Center and we have a separate entrance with a different parking lot.

Woweeee we had one of our busiest days yet this weekend and there were lots of new faces!

We’ve got this fresh new sign AND you can find us on via Google Maps now.

Next day we are open is Sunday Aug 16th. We’ll be open a lil longer for Cushing Fun Days 11am-4pm.

Crystals Closet is open today from 12-3 pm.

We have an over abundance of clothing waiting for you so we are not taking donations today. This is your sign to invite your mom, siblings neighbor, or even your enemies to come shop today. The more clothing you take, the sooner we can start accepting donations again. Don’t be shy!

I also have a ton of clothing to be repurposed. These items are stained, damaged, or otherwise considered textile waste. Use them for filling, making rags or rag rugs, an art project, or fix them up for reuse. You can take an unlimited number of these bags!
