Notes from our Director:

"Greetings Musicians,

Hope your summer has been a blast!

Once again it's recruiting time and your help is greatly needed and appreciated. September 3 is the first cancel date for classes with less than 10 signed up. We must have 20 by 9/8 or face ex*****on! Please register for as many music classes as your schedule permits, especially Music 42 or 41W, Symphonic Band; 34, 45 or 41W61 for Jazz Ensemble; 48A, 68B or 68C for Jazz Improv /Combos. PERFORMANCE CLASSES WILL BE THE FIRST ONES TO GO IF NUMBERS ARE NOT MET!! Let's not follow the example of Foothill, Ohlone and San Jose City Colleges, to name just a few, that have dropped music performance from their class schedules. Administrations are NOT proactive. The only alternative is to have these groups offered by Community Education, with no course credit, greater cost, and probably evening meeting times. Please spread the word and do your part to keep music ALIVE AT DEANZA!!
