History

Established in 2008. Lan Art School was founded in 2008, and

is now the biggest art school in Warm Springs community with more than 150 students.

2008 - 2013, Home studio founded by Lan. Lan is a professional artist in Pictorial art. Jan 2014, We moved to a brand new 1000 sq ft studio located at 200 Brown Rd. We formed a teaching team with a few active artists and introduced Clay, Photography, Comic and Fashion design to our school.

We will be painting this beautiful, serene full moon scene featuring a traditional pagoda and tree. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, this is a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday and relax.

Our 4–6 year olds went on a little trip to Japan this week! 🎨✨

We looked at traditional Japanese pagodas and talked about three cool art tricks real architects use: shapes, repetition, and symmetry (matching both sides!).

The kids learned the names of different parts of a pagoda - like the sweeping roofs, pillars, doors, and the sorin at the top, before painting their own colorful, balanced towers with watercolors. 🖌️

Watching them count out their layers and carefully match their shapes on both sides was so fun to see.

Our Painting students (11+) are kicking off the semester with Hue & Value, a 3-week still life study designed to build strong painting fundamentals. Students begin with shape drawing and monochromatic underpainting, learning to see light, shadow, volume, and form before bringing color into the painting.

From there, they explore color mixing, brushwork, and texture—learning how every brushstroke can help describe form and bring a still life to life.

🥮 Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with mini mooncake art! 🌕✨

Bring your young artists (ages 4–10) for a festive, hands-on Mooncake Air Dry Clay Workshop hosted by Ms. Ameneh! In this fun 1.5-hour session, kids will mold, press, and paint their very own colorful, custom clay mooncakes to take home and treasure forever.

It’s the perfect way for little hands to celebrate the festival with creativity and play! 🐰🎨

✏️ Colored Pencil Fundamentals: Creating Texture! 🧶✨
Colored pencils are about so much more than just filling in color!
In this project, our young artists (7-9yo) practiced creating the soft, fuzzy texture of felt using colored pencils. Through short strokes, layering, and variations in pressure, students learned how to make a flat drawing feel textured and dimensional.
Along the way, they practiced:
🎨 Pencil pressure control
✏️ Layering and blending colors
🧶 Creating texture through different strokes
👀 Observing and recreating different materials
And the best part? Their finished artwork was turned into a one-of-a-kind keychain! 🔑💛
A little fundamentals practice transformed into something they can proudly carry with them. ✨

Mr. Crocodile is taking a bath, and our 4-6 year old students had the absolute best time painting it! 🐊🧼

This week in Exploration Class, the kids broke down big crocs into easy shapes, painted them with tempera colors, and used sponges to create white bubbles!🎨

It’s the perfect mix of silly storytelling and real technique!

Our Advancement Class students (ages 10-12) just wrapped up an 2-session character design project!✨

Each artist imagined a unique explorer and brought them to life by illustrating the traveler alongside all the special items packed in their backpack. 🖋️

Using ink line work and vibrant alcohol markers, our artists brought their characters to life through detailed “flat lay” backpack spreads that tell a whole story.
