Another special event to close out the year was bringing back one of our favorite traditions — the Company Lock-In! This was something our dancers had been asking to revive for years, and we told them if they could help our nonprofit reach its $30,000 fundraising goal, we would make it happen. They rose to the challenge and exceeded expectations!

The evening was filled with sharing dances, honoring our seniors, enjoying a surprise sweet treat from our Board, and of course taking a trip down memory lane watching old dance videos together. It was such a great way to celebrate this season, the friendships, and all the memories made before heading to the stage for recital week.

As we close out the season, we’re reflecting on some pretty cool moments from the past few months.

Congratulations to Eva Karneyenka who was this year’s Joan Kall Stewart Scholarship recipient.

This scholarship is awarded each year in honor of SBT founder, Joan Kall Stewart, and recognizes a dancer who demonstrates dedication, leadership, artistry, and a true love of dance both inside and outside the studio.

Eva’s hard work, commitment, and passion for the performing arts have made a lasting impact, and we were so proud to recognize her with this year’s award at the spring concert cast party.

Open auditions for SBT’s company will be held this Saturday, May 9 at Sawnee School of the Arts.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Level A (Dancers with 6 months to 2 years of pointe experience)
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Level B (Dancers with more than 2 years of pointe experience)

SBT’s season includes three productions a year—starting with a high-energy storybook-style community performance, followed by their 35th Anniversary Nutcracker, and wrapping up with a Spring Concert at the end of March.

It’s a full season of performing, growing, and being part of something bigger—come join the fun!

Feeling really grateful as we begin closing out the 2025–2026 season.

From sponsorships and donations to volunteers and all the behind-the-scenes help, our community showed up for us in every way.

For today’s highlight, we’re taking it back to our Party Scene puppet show that helps set the stage and foreshadow what’s to come.

Thank you to the Forsyth Central High School Art Department for restoring our Nutcracker, Clara, and Rat King puppets, and to Maggie Donaghy, a senior in visual art and the Central Film Academy, for taking this restoration on as part of her senior project.

We’re lucky to be surrounded by people who care about the arts and show up to support it.

Join us tonight, Friday, May 1 for our last Audition Prep Class with Miss Teresa to clean up technique, build confidence, and get comfortable in an audition setting.

Schedule:
5:00–6:30 pm: Level B (2+ years of pointe experience)
6:30–8:00 pm: Level A (6 months–2 years of pointe experience)

Whether you’re new to auditions or coming back for another season, this is a great opportunity to feel prepared and ready going in.

SBT company members are proud to have been part of this year’s Inspirations at Sawnee School of the Arts.

This event featured student-choreographed works and raised an incredible $2,174.33 for Georgia English Bulldog Rescue, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the cause.

Thank you to everyone who supported the dancers and helped make this event possible!
