Nutcracker is already kicking into gear!

We were thrilled to have Kerry Lee back in the studio for her fourth year setting Chinese Tea and sharing traditional Chinese dance with our dancers.

We love having her artistry and expertise as part of our Nutcracker tradition!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Rice & Pasta Drive during our Mulan performances and the Sawnee School of the Arts Open House! Our collection bin was overflowing when we delivered everything to Meals by Grace on August 12.

Giving back is an important part of SBT’s mission. We want our dancers to connect with our community not only through performance, but through service.

Next month, our teens and families will continue that commitment with our Day of Service at Meals by Grace, packing meals and delivering them to families in need throughout Forsyth County. We can’t wait to get to work!

Tonight officially closed out our Mulan performances! After kicking things off with four in-studio performances, our dancers took Mulan on the road to The Glen Villas on Monday, shared two informal performances at the SSA Open House on Tuesday, and tonight Cast B finished our run at The Lotus Village in the Memory Care Unit.

It was the perfect ending, with residents clapping and toe tapping along as our dancers performed to music from the 60s through today. We loved watching our dancers share what they love with our community and bring a little joy wherever they performed!

Tuesday was a big day for Sawnee Ballet Theatre!

We were honored to attend the Forsyth County Grant Reception, made possible by the North Georgia Community Foundation, and are incredibly grateful to have received three grants in support of our upcoming productions.

SBT received grants from both the Forsyth County Community Foundation and the Forsyth County Arts Alliance in support of our 35th Anniversary production of The Nutcracker. We were also thrilled to receive an additional grant from the Forsyth County Arts Alliance for our 2027 Spring Concert production of Aladdin.

Artistic Director Courtney Bromwich, President Ashley Ikerd, and Treasurer Gail Fuller were proud to represent SBT and accept these awards.

We are so thankful for the continued investment in the arts in Forsyth County and for the organizations that help make these performance opportunities possible for our dancers and our community.
