The truly great band leader, composer, and pianist Abdullah Ibrahim has passed. It was a true honor and educational experience serving as Abdullah Ibrahim's agent first with the Brad Simon Organization and later with my own Agency. When I first moved to New York City, I would go see his concerts at Sweet Basil nightly. The music was so good and revealing that you could not help but return for a 2nd night, a 3rd night, a 4th night, a 5th night, and a 6th night. It was a pleasure touring his trios and the legendary septet presentation Ekaya. His African Suite may be the best Jazz plus Strings program ever produced.

The accomplished musician, who recorded over 70 albums in his career, died peacefully in Germany after a short illness

True, Blue, Free, a genuine Revelation. It was a great honor to represent one of the greatest guitarist to ever do it, Mr. James ‘Blood’ Ulmer. Rest peacefully ‘Blood’. You were one of a kind and a blessing to the music.
