In an arena where beauty and fashion savoir faire are usually portrayed by the “young”, Panache holds their own as a troupe consisting of young men and women ages forty and over! Drawn together from diverse backgrounds and experiences, the group has worked together since 1991. and choreographer Eric “E-Jay” Lindsey, Panache Images Modeling Troupe was formally introduced in 1994, making their debut before a standing-room-only crowd, with a Mother’s Day “play” titled “Mother May I?” The audience response to this unprecedented style of modeling was electric. Fueled by a continued positive audience reaction, the creative energy of the production staff soon spawned a theatrical style of modeling punctuated with European flamboyance, New York flair and Los Angeles attitude. Characterized by its use of scripted vignettes and running storylines, this style would come to be known as “Fashion Drama”. Realizing its purpose, the troupe took on a mission to glorify the beauty of aging, and a motto; “We’re not counting the years, we’re making the years count!” Over the past nineteen years they have remained true to that creed as they continue to raise their level of performance. They have showcased their productions while touring and performing in such exotic places as the Virgin Islands and the Mexican Riviera, and have been privileged to open for Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Bloodstone, Roger Troutman with Zapp and the Whispers just to name a few. Their ability to “tailor” their performances to any occasion has put Panache Images in high demand by sororities and an array of other private and professional organizations.
