We are excited to announce that we now carry the Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65 — a 65mm large-format cinema camera built for scale, detail, and serious creative flexibility.

With its 17K 65mm sensor, 16 stops of dynamic range, and Blackmagic RAW workflow, this camera gives productions an enormous canvas for giant-format capture, reframing, VFX, and premium scope. In the early 1990s, Karl Kresser and Juliane Grosso worked at Otto Nemenz. The annual Otto Nemenz networking gathering during a local Los Angeles trade show had developed a warmth and energy unlike anything else on the industry calendar. Filmmakers came after long days on set. Somewhere in those conversations, surrounded by the tools of the trade they saw the need for a dedicated event that retained that irreplaceable human feeling while giving technology the stage it required. With Otto’s full blessing, Kressor and Grosso reenvisioned the gathering and officially launched the first Cine Gear Expo in 1996 at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood.

Years later in 2023 after the pandemic, the show returned to Paramount Studios. At the Cine Gear Expo VIP Party Otto Nemenz was honored with the Cine Gear Legacy Lifetime Achievement Award. Come find us at Cine Gear BOOTH 427 to share your best memories and create new ones!

The Mandalorian & Grogu arrives in theaters tomorrow, and we’re incredibly proud to have serviced the cameras and lenses used on the film.

Great Food, Great Conversations and even better people! We had an amazing time being a part of BBQ, reconnecting with longtime collaborators, meeting new faces and sharing some of the lenses we are excited about.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the women who continue to shape our industry, both behind the camera and at home.
This is Cinematographer Jeanne Tyson on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, 9 months pregnant and still doing what she loves!
Her presence on set is a reminder that motherhood and filmmaking are not mutually exclusive. Women should never feel they have to choose between building a family and pursuing a career in this industry. The next generation deserves to grow up seeing that both are possible.
To all the mothers, future mothers, and women carving their own path in film, we see you, we support you, and we celebrate you.
