The T-2C Buckeye has its second to final clear coat which just sealed all the decals.

As for the decals they were horrible had scrap the jet I wanted to do since “C” literally fell apart as I was placing it on vertical stab of the model.

Had I known this would have been the issue, I would have scanned them so that I could make masks for all the major markings that are all black. Even the smaller decals just thin as all can be didn’t use Micro Sol or Set they would just sucked down to the paint that’s with at least 4 clear X-22 coats on the model.

The seats, canopy, undercarriage, and x2 fins above the speed boards are all that’s left for this build. Plus I need to add a light panel line wash on outside and inside the wheel wells. Then the final clear coat will seal it all in.

Might have all those sub assemblies dealt with but they will probably wait till Monday work Friday Saturday n Sunday at the firehouse.

This is a MUST for when you build your Academy or KittyHawk UH-1Y.

You can not go wrong with a book from Mason over at CAVU Publications, LLC. The amount of detail photos that he has taken and that have been contributed from other individuals is truly unbelievable and unprecedented. When the links go HOT do not drag your feet cause this book will sell out quickly.

Time to do some proofing!

The rest of the year is going to finishing shelf queens, which means Jan 2027 I can start fresh 🤷🏼‍♂️….so what you see here is the Special Hobby T-2C Buckeye 159717 VT-26.

This is the Commanding Officers Jet. Only was able to find one pic of the jet off Flickr 📸 goes to Robert Sullivan.

Which this jet will go with the TA-4J Skyhawk.

Wuz Up Everyone!!!! unfortunately, there isn't going to be much of an update till Thursday evening or Friday. The joys of being an adult and having to work the full-time gig and part time gig kind of has gotten in the way.

This gives me a chance to work on doing more research on which aircraft for the P-3C build, plus work on some masks for the AD-5 since I am close to being at the primer stage of the build.

I know it's not the update you guys was hoping for, but I figure I would keep everyone in the loop as to what is happening.

As Gunfighter Models as said been grinding on 1/32 stuff so far this year.

Spent alittle time today removing the original bulkhead that would accept the vacuum canopy.

This is what I was referring to as 3D printed clear pieces. TTModelworks had redesigned/reworked to print the canopy’s which hands down 10 times better especially since I was able to tint the clear pieces behind the bulkhead.

Only issue is the front windshield acts like it’s too wide but if actually it’s not since you need the “ bulge” just little work you should be golden.

Back two clear pieces I used PVA glue to attach but the windshield I used alittle VMS CA for 3D pieces.

Back to work for the next 5 days 😮‍💨 but gives me time read a couple books I got in the mail to learn more on the “Spade”.

This is the TTModelworks 1/32 AD-5/A-1E Skyraider all 3D printed model.

Picked this up from TTModelworks at the 2025 Nats show in Hampton Virginia. Other than I was missing a few pieces which he was able to send them plus new 3D printed clear pieces for the canopy, I would have to say YES!!!

Besides the P-3C which is Filament printed this kit seams to be resin printed. Which it is very brittle nicked a two areas 🤦🏼‍♂️. But as you can the cockpit is very well detailed too. The kit comes with “loaded” and “unloaded” landing gear and wheels. Also you get outboard pylons with and without the sway brackets on them. You can have positional flaps also.

So it’s been a very interesting learning curve for me especially with the P-3C build.

So go check out his store oh yeah he lives right in Houston Texas, and I believe he has them on the shelf at LionHeart Hobby, I only know that is because I’ve seen it on the eBay store.

The P-3 is slowly making head way but decided I needed to finish this build it keeps getting the way on the bench 🤨🤦🏼‍♂️.

Thinned down black brown wash on it with some Mr color GX 113 Super Clear III UV Cut. Have a handful of fiddly bits and this one will be finished.

Spend oh I don’t know maybe 3 hours of sanding one fuselage half, tail section plus the port wing I’ve not really put a dent in this pig.

Both of these models are great 1/32 scale kits for size comparison 🤔.

For the most part the port fuselage is smooth minus I still have to redo some seems on it, same with the tail section and the wing. Well Mother Nature decided to rain so I’ll start here for now.

It’s a marathon not a race they say 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣🤔.
