Western Carolina Community Chorus

09/12/2026

Rehearsals for our Fall 2026 season begin tomorrow - Sunday, September 13 at 3 pm in 357 Coulter (the choral room). This semester we’ll be singing the Christmas section of Handel’s Messiah (part 1, plus Hallelujah) along with some other Holiday selections for a combined concert with the Mountain Winds to take place in December.

Alumni choir members are encouraged to come sing with us! The concert for Messiah will be on November 22 in Coulter recital hall. There will be an extra rehearsal for out of towners on Friday evening, 11/20 from 7-9 in the choir room, and dress rehearsal will be Saturday 11/21 from 1:30-4:30.

Please send a message if you have any questions!

WCU Choral Alumni are invited to sing!

The Western Carolina Community Chorus will present the Christmas portion (and "Hallelujah") of Handel's MESSIAH on November 22, 2026 at 3 PM in Coulter Recital Hall. Rehearsal with orchestra will be November 21, 2026, 1-4 PM.

From Dr. Holquist:
Throughout my tenure at WCU, several of the choirs have performed MESSIAH with Asheville Symphony, and with the Community Chorus. If you have SUNG THIS BEFORE, you are invited to join us.

I hope we are REALLY CROWDED on the stage. You will need to attend a rehearsal Friday, 11/20, 7-9 PM, and the dress rehearsal. Pass the word on to others, and send me your email addresses so that I can develop a list for communication. I would be honored by your participation, and look forward to making music again with some of my favorite people. (Spouses, children, grandchildren also invited.)

Let me hear from you! [email protected]
Or feel free to message this page and I will get your contact info to him! (Emily Moss)
