VIH is honored to be a part of the City of Crystal Lake Memorial Day Ceremony. The word "community" in "community choir" is very important to who we are, and we are happy to serve our community. We are very proud that Encore Music Academy was well represented in the band and as trumpet soloists in playing Taps.

We’re proud of the work that Sean does for our community and our veterans. As busy as he is, he finds time to sing with VIH. Check out this fine organization, the Veterans Path to Hope.

👋Meet Sean, a licensed mental health counselor and Navy vet who provides local veterans free counseling services here at VPH!

“I joined the active Navy in 1996, serving four years, mainly stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI. I would go on several nautical cruises of West Pacs and various missions supporting Taiwan, force projection, and ensuring fair and commercial sea transit. I served as a Gas Turbine Systems Electrician.

▪ For several years after I became a civilian again, although after some time I joined the Navy Reserves for the next 19 years. I was called up for active duty for over a year in support of Operation New Dawn in Kuwait. I would serve in various positions in training, travel, career counseling, funeral honors and finally as a senior enlisted leader in two units before I retired after a combined 24 years of service. I have done over 550 funerals in my career. I have been to many countries, noticing we are truly blessed people worth fighting for.

❤My current loves are my family, friends, and working with our Veterans and their Families. I participate in a community choir, church, and my faith, compete in races, and read various books to keep me humble and eager to learn more. You may see me out walking, enjoying the great outdoors!"
