What an incredible way to end the competition season and dance year in a whole. I walked a lot of miles, carried a lot of bags, made sure everyone was fed well, hydrated, ready to dance their best and I attempted to at least keep up with my emails.

I am proud of all the hard work this season.
As one mom told me this weekend; awards make posts like these quantifiable to the general population. BUT what most people don't understand is that these dancers push their bodies the way that athletes do while incorporating artistry into their performances. Every dancer has to be very vulnerable in order to share a story or music that someone else has written or created.

For every one thing that they are told they are doing right; they have 10 details they are trying to fix. Turning a hip 1/2 of a cm, pointing through their feet correctly, dropping their shoulders, lifting up their faces, where their foot is placed....over and over again they hear these corrections.

Dance is PURE GRIT when it comes down to it.

I am extremely proud of each and every dancer. Proud of ALL the overcome anxieties, fears, injuries, mental blocks...you name it- they choose to shine through it. Dancers HAVE to be SMART.

Shoutout to Abby Smith for making it to the FINAL SHOWDOWN this was not only a huge opportunity, but a true honor to be able to see your passion shine on stage one more time. We are proud of your commitment and your perseverance through it all.

Rainy Day - Platinum, Judges Award named Home Sweet Home for her poise and grace on stage.

Love, Me - Platinum

Blackbird - Platinum, 2nd place overall

Rumor Has It - Platinum, 10th place overall

Love on the Brain - Double Platinum, 1st in the Jazz Category, 2nd place overall

Doomsday - Double Platinum, 1st in the Contemporary Category, 1st place overall.
**One of the top 5 scores out of 148 dances and was asked to RECOMPETE IN THE FINAL SHOWDOWN! & was Honored with a plaque for competing within this!
