Who can’t contain themselves for National Whiskey Sour Day on August 25th? 👋🏻 Whiskey Sours are one of my favorite drinks especially when the summer heat is frying you like an egg!

Here is a little sneak peak of at least one variation that I’ll be enjoying! Featuring Keeper’s Heart Irish + American Whiskey Keeper’s Heart Whiskey . It’s a Lavender Whiskey Sour, the lavender with the citrus is amazing and with the addition of this whiskey blend…..it’s a chefs kiss! Join me on August 25th with Keeper’s Heart and raise a glass of your favorite whiskey sour! (one of them better be this one 😉) Cheers!

0.75 oz. 2:1 Simple Syrup
1.5 tsp of dried lavender flowers
2 oz. Keeper’s Heart
0.75 oz. Lemon Juice
1 Egg White

Snagged a local store pick of Eagle Rare at a local joint next to me. Same day a buddy happened to give me this cigar. Fate 🤷🏻‍♂️ but both were too good not to have today.

This store pick has strong vanilla notes at least to me. I think it’s better than my regular bottle I have. New to drinking just bourbon so not sure of flavor notes. Still kind of go by “does it burn?” This one did at first let the bottle breath and it has smoothed out.

82 years ago this morning, if you were fortunate to own a radio, knew someone who had one, and or were able to get a copy of a local paper would be hearing the news. The Allies had launched the largest amphibious/airborne assault on mainland Europe to rid it of its N**i occupation, Operation Overlord or more commonly referred to as D-Day.

Those of you who know me personally know that I have a fondness of military history more specifically WW2. I’m not sure why, maybe past life, but regardless it resonates in my body. I hope to eventually get to these sacred beaches one day.

Please take a moment no matter how brief to remember their sacrifice. 🥃🇺🇸

Been a little busy lately. Recently I had an opportunity to visit Heaven Hill Distillery. My primary job is a Firefighter/Paramedic and our association has done a barrel pick at various distilleries over the past couple years. This year we lucked out, my friends and I were able to pick a barrel of Elijah Craig.

After much deliberation we tasted 5 barrels and picked the best one. The barrel chosen at the time of bottling will be a 10yr Barrel Proof Elijah Craig. At the time of tasting it was a tad over 130 proof! I normally don’t like them that hot but this one was different. We cannot wait to taste the final product and hopefully will get to do it again next yr! 🤞🏻

Cannot go without thanking the staff! They were great, taking their time with us and making our family feel a part of their family! Can’t wait to go back, cheers! 🥃

Oh and I’ll keep everyone updated on when the bottles will be available for our fundraiser. 😉🥃
