While power has now been restored to the Chavez Studio of Magic, there are many close neighbors and almost 60% of the county living without power from the storms of August 11th.

Remembering Channing Po***ck!

Chan was an early student of Neil Foster, who graduated from the Chavez Studio of Magic, in 1952 was born this day (August 16th) in 1926.

He was a gracious gentleman and lifelong friend of the Chavez Studio who inspired and encouraged many in the art the sleight of hand Magic.

Back to the Chavez Studio of Magic, JUST in time!

After having a great adventure on the road in New York and Canada, making new friends while sharing the joy of laughter and magic, only to return to what the utility company classified as the worse storm in their history!

The National Weather Service Confirmed an EF-2 Tornado in NW Indiana!

A few days ago, on August 11th,
the National Weather Service determined that the tornado, which impacted the City of Crown Point, reached EF-2 strength on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, with estimated winds ranging from 111 to 135 mph.

There has been rain every day since and they are calling for more tomorrow with additional tornadic activity towards the evening hours.

This has been a "real-time" case study regarding the good, the bad, and the ugly of social behavior and temperament when resources become limited.

While still sitting in the dark with no power, we are maintaining, knowing the real clean-up is in our future.
