A little behind the scenes look at what goes into putting on a show for a packed house!

In just two weeks, our performers sang, danced, acted, learned tap and jazz, practiced costume changes, timing, stage skills, and so much more. We are so proud of everything they accomplished!

A very special thank you to Director Barbara Rue, who truly does it all... from costumes and set design to choreography, direction, and everything in between.

Thanks to everyone fromt he community who came out to see the show and support our young performers!

What a fun two weeks of learning, creating, and making theater together!

A little sneak peek…

Our Musical Theater Camp has been singing, dancing, acting, and working hard for the past two weeks with Director Barbara Rue! We worked on lots of skills, including jazz and tap. Join us tomorrow for their Musical Theater Showcase and see what they’ve been working on!

All camps will be at the North Salem Community Center, Monday through Thursday, 9am to 3pm, unless otherwise noted.

And just like that… another summer at NSDC is in the books.

Six weeks of camp days, lake days, theme days, friendships, laughter, rainy days, pool days, and a whole lot of memories.

Thank you to our campers, families, and incredible staff for making Summer 2026 one to remember. We already miss seeing everyone up on the mountain!

Session 2 is in the books!

What a fun couple of weeks it's been! Between splashing in the pool, paddling around the lake at canoe, making music, exploring nature with Eco Explorers, finding our Zen in yoga, and everything in between, our campers packed so much into one session.

Our theme days were definitely a highlight! Campers jumped right into Spy Day (yes... Ashley really did steal her own duck 😂) and fully embraced Wild Wild West Day with plenty of "yeehaws" along the way. We also loved watching everyone cheer each other on during the Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament and laugh their way through another unforgettable Counselor Talent Show.

Thank you to our incredible campers for bringing your energy, kindness, and smiles and to our counselors and specialists for making the magic happen every day!

We're so grateful for another unforgettable session and can't wait to do it all again with our Session 3 crew!

After closely monitoring the latest air quality conditions and guidance, we have made the difficult decision to cancel North Salem Day Camp for Thursday, July 16th.

Because our camp is located at a higher elevation and operates entirely outdoors, we have increased concerns about the smoke and its potential impact on the health and safety of our campers and staff. We understand this may require last minute changes to your plans, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The safety of our camp community must come first.
