We all build our resumes in various ways. I’ve been out of the artist loop for quite a while , except the few fabulous mural opportunities in the recent years.
As my fellow artists can surely attest, if you aren’t feeling inspired…the visions, ideas, colors; any and all of it just doesn’t happen. Not well anyway.
Getting my work in the public eye has always been a sure motivator, it gets the “ flow state” energy…flowing.
Last month, I had an energetic moment or a “vision,” of having my work in a larger scene, build my resume per se, and continue to grow outside of just being a local artist.
Feeling ambitious, I submitted a couple of my larger paintings to a jury in the Detroit area, hopeful they’d bite on one for an exhibition I’d like to be a part of.
Just received word, I’m in! One of my pieces has been selected as part of the VISION AND IMAGINATION exhibit, representing the Detroit Society of Woman Painters and Sculptures. Founded in 1903, DSWPS is one of the longest standing artist society in the USA.
Very excited to be heading to Pontiac, Michigan with my work.
