After giving this a lot of thought, we’ve made the decision that Gaming Paradise will no longer post identifiable photos or videos of children on our social media page even with a signed release.
A recent federal appeals court ruling involving the private possession of AI generated CSAM depicting fictional children raised concerns that I simply can’t ignore.
Technology, especially AI, is moving incredibly fast, and the protections surrounding how images can be used or manipulated are still trying to catch up. When it comes to children, I would rather be overly cautious than ever look back and wish we had done more.
If there is something within our control that can provide even one additional layer of protection for a child, then I believe we have a responsibility to do it.
Will this change some of the content we’re able to share? Absolutely. Could it affect our business in some small way? Maybe.
That’s a trade off I will gladly make.
The safety and privacy of children, their families, and our customers will always matter more to us than views, engagement, content, or money.
I may not be a parent just yet, but I have children in my family whom I love dearly. I would want someone else to take their safety as seriously as I would and I believe every parent deserves that same peace of mind when their child walks through our doors.
Some things will always be more important than business. ❤️
