Kitchen Shelving - Part 2

We think adding the shelving improved the kitchen so much! Here is the other half of the shelves.

We spent a long time deciding how long to make them and what parts to shorten. When Samuel asked if we should cut off the little knot, I said we should definitely keep it. Now my rosemary is hanging from it. Why not?

We hope to add tile and a vent hood behind the stove next to finish out the back wall.

Live Edge Shelving Install - Part 1

I adore these hand-carved, live-edge shelves. I finally got this side styled and couldn't be happier with the result. The oak carved so nicely.

The gold paint and gloss finish makes them shine.

I never would have found these on Pinterest. But I guess that's the benefit of working with an artist. He always pulls off something unique and beautiful.

I'll post the other set soon.

When you cut down a tree, sometimes what you want to make out of it just isnt what the tree was meant for.

Samuel had thought to turn this log into part of his wagon. But the knots and live edge begged for a different use.

So we now finally have shelving for our kitchen!

We are waiting for the sealant to dry so we can hang them and show of their true loveliness!

Lamb Coming this Fall!

There is nothing quite like eating your own meat. Lamb has such mixed reviews when you ask people if they like it.

Ever wonder why?

A lot depends on what an animal eats and how old it is.

The older a lamb is, the gamier it tastes. People who have had older lamb (mutton) always wrinkle their noses in distaste at the memory.

But those who have eaten lamb? They all say they can't wait to have it again.

We are getting close to having lamb available for sale in the fall.

If you are at all interested, PLEASE comment below, so we can reach out once it's ready.

We will have very limited quantities this year and have a first come first serve policy.

The Sheep Eacaped! Did they know it was almost butchering time???

Raising Lamb isn't easy 😅🙃

Good thing our mini Shepherds have gained confidence.

We wouldn't have as much fun with their help.

We are sending one of the lambs to the butcher this week!
