There really aren’t words for what our community has been through these past few weeks.

On July 27th, our area was hit by a devastating storm with multiple tornado touchdowns, widespread damage, and power outages that lasted for days.

Then, just about two weeks later, on August 11th, we were hit again—this time by a derecho accompanied by multiple tornadoes.

Northwest Indiana and the Chicago South Suburbs have been absolutely devastated. Trees are still down everywhere. Homes and properties have been damaged, farms have been hit hard, power lines and telephone lines are down, and flooding has caused even more destruction. And now over nine days later, tens of thousands of people in the region are still without power. Many areas with live wires still down.

We were incredibly fortunate at the studio and gallery. We made it through without any major damage, aside from a few large tree limbs. But we also narrowly missed a tornado that came through just a block south of us. It tore through everything in its path, including some of our local farms.

It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to see this kind of devastation so close to home and know that so many of our neighbors are still struggling.

This area needs your support right now. We’ve never seen anything like this. If you’re able to help—whether through donations, supplies, volunteering, or sharing resources—please consider doing so. Even small acts of kindness can make a real difference when a community is trying to recover.

We are grateful that we are okay. Now we’re hoping we can come together and help the people around us who are still trying to put their lives back together.

It’s not much, but now that we have power, know that you’re always welcome to take a break and enjoy the A/C in our gallery while enjoying the beautiful fine art glass we have on display.

Please take care of each other. ❤️‍🩹

🎄 A little holiday magic in August.

Before the second storm came through this week, Daniel was working on these beautiful Christmas ornaments, getting an extra head start on the holiday season.

Watching this now feels a little different. After such a devastating week for our community, there’s something comforting about seeing the familiar rhythm of the studio—the heat of the furnace, the movement of the glass, and Daniel carefully bringing these little pieces to life.

The colors, iridescence, and translucency are truly incredible. A small glimpse of some beauty made before the storm. ❤️

We’re grateful for our studio, our artists, and our community—and we’re thinking of everyone still dealing with the aftermath.

Our studio will be open Friday from 9am-6pm. Come on by, cool down, charge your device, and take a little time to enjoy some beautiful glass.

A flower brought to life in glass. 🌺

Watch as Daniel Lotton creates a magnum floral paperweight, carefully building each layer of petals to form a deep, dimensional bloom forever suspended within the crystal-clear.

This entire process is a blend of skill, precision, and artistry. You have to see this in person. Come check out the finished piece in our gallery sometime.
We are open Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, and Saturdays by appointment. ✨

It’s been quite the week.

Monday’s storm came through fast, and like so many others, we spent the last few days without power. Thankfully, everyone here is safe, the studio made it through without damage (though a bit wet, and we lost a few tree limbs here and there), and our backup generators kept the furnaces running when the lights went out. Today, we’re finally back with power and grateful to be getting back to work.

We know many are still cleaning up and recovering, and our hearts are with everyone who was affected.

To end the week on a brighter note, here’s a short glimpse of Daniel Lotton creating one of his signature Dogwood Blossom vases. We hope it brings a moment of beauty and calm after such an intense start to our week. 🌸

Remember, we’re open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, so come by for a visit to see some beautiful hand blown fine art glass.

🔥 From molten glass to finished masterpiece!

Watch Daniel Lotton as he transforms glowing hot crystal into a beautiful, custom handblown vase decorated extensively with rich cobalt blue cactus flowers. Every curve, every petal, and every detail is shaped entirely by hand while the glass is still over 2,000°F.

There’s no assembly line here—just decades of experience, patience, and an incredible understanding of the material. Each piece is created one at a time in our studio, making every vase as unique as the person who brings it home.

The finished result is beautiful, but the journey of making it is where the magic truly happens. ✨

We hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend! ❤️🤍💙

As we celebrated America’s independence, we also took a moment to appreciate and celebrate American craftsmanship.

Each lamp by Daniel Lotton is handblown in our Illinois studio, where every piece is created one at a time from scratch using colors and techniques developed over decades of dedication to the art of glassmaking. When illuminated, these beautifully decorated lamps transform into glowing works of art, bringing warmth and beauty to any home.

Enjoy this look at some of the lamps currently available. If one catches your eye, send us a message—we’d be happy to help you find the perfect piece.

We hope you had a safe, joyful, and memorable Fourth of July. Happy 250, America! 🇺🇸✨
