Town and Country Art League Town and Country Art League has been a respected fine arts group for over 5 decades in the South Chicagoland area.

We meet at 7 PM the 2nd Friday of the month, September to May, at the Andrew BIela Center, Crestwood, 4545 MIdlothian Turnpike, Crestwood. We are a 501 (c) (3), non profit corporation promoting all artists’ interest, growth of our members and strive for excellence in the arts.Our art league members reside in Chicago and Chicago's surrounding suburbs. There is a $5.00 guest fee which will be applie

d toward membership if you join. Yearly membership dues are as follows:
Individual $40.00
Family $45.00
Senior $35.00
Student $25.00

The Best of Best Exhibit 2026 hosted by DuPage Art League held its Artists Reception on Sunday, August 9th. Four of TCAL's seven winners were in attendance: Mary Smith with "Blowing in the Wind" (Oil), Gabriel Garcia with "Chicago River" (Watercolor), Mary Ann Grajek with "Spring Has Sprung" (Colored Pencil), and Nancy Bentley with "Heartfelt" (Mixed Media). Other TCAL members that have winning artwork displayed are: Christine Danielski "Psychedelic Kiss" (Acrylic), Judy Jamrisko "Lockport Canal" (Watercolor), Pat Wilderspin "Freedom's Not Free" (Charcoal). Nancy also displayed her winning portrait with the Lemont Art Guild, titled "Tired Junior Park Ranger at Joshua Tree Park" (Colored Pencil).

The Best of Best Exhibit runs thru August 25th. So stop by the DuPage Art League Gallery located in downtown Wheaton at 218 W. Front Street.

We had a great time yesterday during our summer workshop! Karen Hart Signore led TCAL members through a variety of warm up exercises to get our creativity flowing. Then we worked on mixed media sunflower designs. It was so wonderful to see all the variety in the finished pieces!

Our first meeting of the new year is September 11 at the Biela Center in Crestwood at 7pm. New members are welcome or come as a guest for just $5.

Town and Country Art League, along with 10 other art leagues in the Chicago suburbs, will participate in the 2026 Best of the Best Fine Art Exhibit hosted by the DuPage Art League.

The 7 winning participants from TCAL are: Judy Jamrisko – “Lockport Canal” (watercolor); Nancy Bentley – “Heartfelt Thanks” (mixed media); Gabriel Garcia – “Chicago River” (watercolor); Mary Smith – “Blowing in the Wind” (oil); Pat Wilderspin – “Nurse and Soldier” (charcoal); Christine Danielski – “Psychedelic Kiss” (acrylic); and Mary Ann Grajek – “Spring Has Sprung” (colored pencil).

The Best of the Best Fine Art Exhibit is free and open to the public at the DuPage Art League Gallery in downtown Wheaton at 218 W. Front St. The exhibit runs from August 1-25, and the Artist Reception is on Sunday, August 9, from 2-4:00 p.m.

Our next plein air outing is tomorrow, June 13 at Lake Katherine in Palos Heights. We are going to meet at 10am in the parking lot. Please bring your own supplies to sketch or paint.

The "Looking at Us" Portrait Show with Chicago artist Jean Lewis and 4 other artists will be held at Tall Grass Gallery in Park Forest from June 13-July 18. TCAL member Nancy Bentley will displaying 12 pieces of her portrait work. The artist reception is June 13th. from 1-3:00 p.m. Hope to see you at the reception!
