❤️ THE STORY BEHIND OUR HARLEY DAVIDSON CASE ❤️

Have you ever noticed the old Harley Davidson memorabilia displayed in one of our display counters?

If you've been in the shop, chances are you've seen it. Some people notice it but don't say anything. Others ask us about all the old Harley memorabilia inside.

Those people get to hear the story of how we came to have it all.

But today, you get to hear it too. ❤️

Many years ago, when we were remodeling this old building and getting it ready for us to move our shop in, Tommy walked outside to his truck one day and found something very unexpected.

There, sitting neatly beside his truck, was a random pile of Harley Davidson memorabilia.

He was confused.

No one had come inside. No one had said anything to him. No one had even tried to find him to explain where it came from.

This wasn't just a pile of old Harley stuff...

These were beautiful, very old, highly collectible antique Harley Davidson pieces.

Tommy asked around, trying to figure out who had left them there, but nobody knew.

Until a couple of months later...

An older, frail, incredibly sweet man walked into the shop.

He asked if Tommy had received the things he had left for him.

We were confused at first because it had been months since that mysterious pile had appeared.

Then he said:

"You know... the pile of old Harley stuff I left by his truck."

I looked at him and said,

"OMG... THAT WAS YOU?!"

He smiled and said, "Yes ma'am. It was. And I actually brought some more things for him, if you can give them to him."

I asked, "Of course! Do you know Tommy?"

He simply replied:

"No. But I knew he would take care of this stuff and appreciate it."

That sentence has always stuck with me.

He didn't know Tommy.

He had never met him.

Yet something in his heart told him that Tommy was the person he wanted to trust with something incredibly important to him.

So we ran to get Tommy.

I remember practically freaking out, telling him that we had finally figured out who had left all of the Harley memorabilia by his truck.

But the part that surprised Tommy the most?

This man didn't know him at all.

Tommy came out, shook his hand, and thanked him for everything he had left.

Of course, Tommy wanted to know how he had acquired all of it... and, probably even more importantly, why on earth he had chosen to give all of these valuable things to a complete stranger.

That's when the story changed.

The old man's eyes filled with tears.

He told Tommy that every single one of those things had belonged to his wife.

His wife had recently passed away after becoming sick very suddenly.

She had spent 40 years collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia.

Forty years of memories.

Forty years of things she loved.

Forty years of a life they shared together.

But after she passed, he couldn't bear to look at any of it.

He told us that every time he saw her things, it hurt.

Instead of helping him heal, they reminded him of the person he had lost.

And standing there in our shop, that sweet old man completely broke down.

Tommy asked him,

"Well... why me? Why did you pick me?"

And the man simply said:

"I just felt in my heart that you would take good care of it all." 😭💔

That was it.

No complicated reason.

No business connection.

No friendship.

Just a feeling in his heart that Tommy would understand the importance of what he was giving him.

So Tommy promised him something.

He told him that he would display everything in our shop's case so that his wife's collection wouldn't simply disappear.

He told him that the man could come back anytime he wanted and visit it.

He could sit here and look at her things.

He could remember her.

He could know that the things she spent 40 years collecting were being cared for and appreciated.

And that's exactly what he did.

Over the next six months or so, he came back several times.

And almost every time, he brought us more pieces to add to the case.

He would stand there for a while, staring through the glass at his wife's collection.

Sometimes he would talk about her.

Sometimes he wouldn't say much at all.

Sometimes he would just stand there and cry.

And if you knew the story behind that case, watching him stand there was enough to break your heart.

During one of his visits, he told us that he had turned to alcohol to cope with losing his wife.

We had suspected it because, after those first few visits, we could often smell alcohol on him when he came in.

We just hoped he was okay.

Then several months passed.

We hadn't seen him in a while.

I remember Tommy and I actually talking about him and wondering where he had been.

Then wouldn't you know it...

He walked through our front door.

But this time, he wasn't carrying another Harley Davidson item.

He was carrying a small wooden box.

He handed it to me, and he immediately started crying.

I reached to open it.

He stopped me.

"NO, PLEASE DON'T."

"Please... I want y'all to have this."

"This is the most precious thing I own."

"But you have to promise me you won't open it. Ever."

"I know y'all will take care of it."

I told him, "Of course we will."

I opened our glass display case and carefully placed the little wooden box inside, right in front of him.

I wanted him to see that I was going to respect his wishes.

He stayed for a while that day.

Longer than usual.

Just standing there, staring through the glass at all of the things that had belonged to his wife.

The things she had collected.

The things she loved.

The things that reminded him of her.

Eventually, he left.

As soon as he did, I went into Tommy's room and told him everything that had happened.

I showed him the little box.

And honestly...

Tommy and I both have a pretty good idea what is inside it.

After hearing this story, I'm sure some of you probably do too.

But we have never opened it.

We never will.

Because that wasn't the gift.

The gift was his trust.

That was the last time we ever saw that sweet old man.

We've wondered about him many times since.

We've wondered if he was okay.

If he ever got sober.

If he ever found some peace after losing his wife.

If he ever found a way to live with the grief that was clearly consuming him.

Unfortunately, because he was already elderly and had developed a dependence on alcohol later in life, sometimes we fear the worst.

But I truly hope that's not the case.

Wherever he is, I hope he's okay.

I hope he's healthier.

I hope he found someone to help him through his grief.

And most of all...

I hope he found peace. ❤️

I miss his visits.

I miss that sweet old man walking through our front door and standing in front of that case.

And every time I look at that little wooden box sitting inside, I think about him.

I think about his wife.

I think about 40 years of memories.

And I think about how incredible it is that someone who didn't even know Tommy could somehow know, deep down, that he could trust him with the things that meant the most.

That's one of the reasons I wanted to share this story.

Because this isn't just the story of our "Harley Davidson case."

It's a story about love, loss, grief, trust, and kindness.

It's also a little glimpse into the side of Tommy that some people may never get to see.

People sometimes think they know someone based on what they've heard from others or the version of them they happen to create.

But I have had the privilege of seeing Tommy's heart in ways that most people don't.

And I can tell you...

He truly does have a good heart.

We cared about that old man.

There were even a couple of times I found myself crying right alongside him.

Because you didn't have to know his wife to understand how deeply he loved her.

You could see it in his eyes.

You could hear it in his voice.

You could feel it every time he stood in front of that case.

That man loved and missed his wife with his entire heart. 💔

Somehow, in the middle of all that heartbreak, he trusted us to keep a little piece of her safe.

So if you've ever wondered why we have a case full of old Harley Davidson items at our front counter...

Now you know. ❤️

And if you ever come into the shop and see that little wooden box sitting inside...

Please remember the man who gave it to us.

Remember the woman who collected all of those things for 40 years.

Remember that sometimes, the most meaningful things we are ever given aren't really things at all.

Sometimes they're memories.

Sometimes they're trust.

And sometimes they're a piece of someone's heart. ❤️

💰 $60 & $100 FLASH DESIGNS 💰

We will actually have 5–6 artists participating this weekend, which is a couple more artists than usual, so we’re hoping to keep things moving as quickly as possible! 🙌

That being said, PLEASE EXPECT A WAIT. ⏰

We work hard to give y’all some of the best value you’ll find at a flash sale, and because of that, many of these designs are decent-sized tattoos. They take time to do—and we want our artists to take the time to do them RIGHT so you leave with a beautiful tattoo that you’ll be wearing forever. 🖤

The first group of people in line will be asked to stay and wait. If things get backed up too much, I’ll allow you to leave and will call you when your turn is getting closer. You won’t have to stand around all day if we’re super backed up!

🔥 FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE! 🔥

👶 MINORS ARE WELCOME!
Our notary will be on staff all weekend for anyone needing minor paperwork notarized. There will be an additional notary fee.

💵 CASH IS ALWAYS PREFERRED!
Cash will help us keep things moving much faster. We do have an ATM available inside the shop if needed.

⏰ HOURS:
Friday & Saturday: 12 PM – 10 PM
Sunday: 12 PM – 8 PM

📍 PLACEMENT:
Placement will be up to your artist, so just ask them about placement when you’re called for your tattoo.

Those areas are off-limits for this flash sale.

🚗 PARKING:
You’re welcome to park:
• Behind the shop
• Across the street at the car wash

Hey everyone! 👋🖤

Our FLASH SALE IS THIS WEEKEND! 🎉 We know everyone has been patiently waiting for us to drop the designs, and we promise we haven’t forgotten about y’all! 😆

Unfortunately, we’ve had a couple of very busy days off from work and haven’t gotten the designs finished just yet. Those of you who have followed us for a while know that we’ve been a little late posting the designs a time or two before 😉😂 — but DO NOT FRET!

We will have them posted at least a couple of days before the sale so everyone has plenty of time to look through them and get your new tattoo worked into your schedule. 🖤

We’re still going through all of the suggestions from our last post, and we’ll be choosing some of your suggestions to turn into $60 & $100 flash designs.🔥

So keep an eye on our page TOMORROW when we get back to work! 👀 😍

Thank you all for being so patient with us. We can’t wait to see what y’all pick 🖤
