“Young Dance” is a small silk scarf 8" x 54". It is hand painted silk using specialty silk dyes. I was inspired by the young people of our small Colorado town of less than 200. The youth here are always dancing at all our festival, in our local town park. Our small town has festivals that draw many hundreds of people and one always sees our youth out there dancing with Joy. It always reminds me how vital youth are to a vital community.

Winter Dancers

“Winter Dancers” is a small silk scarf 10" x 60". I painted using specialty silk dyes, wax resist and a few other techniques. I wanted to bring out the feelings and joy of the first snow on the Sangre De Cristo mountains. It always amazes me how everybody gets out in cute skirts, fleece tops, hats, mittens, warm leggings, and dances around when they see those first white peaks upon the top of those high mountains.

"Kansas Summer" is one of the strong works in the catalog this spring.

“Kansas Summer” is a acrylic painting of a trip I took to Kansas which was full of amazing things I never knew Kansas had to offer. At one point driving along the flatlands there was a green area next to the golden fields of wheat and the blue sky with a thunderstorm bursting to the east. It inspired me and seemed like something I just needed to paint, remember and to keep in my heart. Somehow I didn’t take a photo of it so this is how I saw it.
