GDCO… this year’s recital is truly something special.

The inspiration came from a group of our dancers who encouraged me to watch the powerful juke joint scene from the movie, "Sinners". Once I experienced it, I couldn’t shake the depth of its message—the way it wove together history, culture, rhythm, and storytelling through music and movement. That moment sparked an idea that has grown into a celebration of our cultural ancestry—honoring the voices, the artists, and the legacy that continues to live through music & dance.

Our 27th Annual Generation Dance Company Recital Showcase is more than a performance—it’s a journey through time, expression, and heritage.

✨ Tickets go on sale Saturday, April 25th

This was my Beginner Ballet Pointe classes way of saying hello to me this past Saturday. I adore each one of these girls. They simply make me smile 😊…. I mean look at those faces.

This was them attempting to convince me to use a certain song for their recital dance… FYI, it was a hard no from me- but they definitely tried very hard to convince me! Lol 😂

Good afternoon GDCO families,
After watching the weather channel closely, I have decided that we need to CANCEL CLASSES for tonight due to the severe storm warnings. It is expected to start around 3-4:00 and will go until 1am.

Stay in! Stay Safe! Both the Tuesday 3/4 & 5/6 year old classes will be allowed to use the 5/6 Wednesday (March 11) class from 5:30-6:30 as a make-up class. The 9/10 Tuesday class can use Thursday March 12th as a make-up class (6:00-7:30) & the 11/13 Tuesday classes will be allowed to use the Beg. Teen Thursday class (6:00-8:00) as a make-up day. This should cover all Tuesday classes for make-up days.

Easterseals invited us to dance… and dance we did! A tight space. An awkwardly shaped space in a diagonal corner with huge ES26 taking up about 4-6 feet in a barely 20x20 ft. space… And yet GDCO came through like champs .

Thank you to the 11-13 Tuesday class & the Combined level teen class. Also thank you to the parents who acted as our dancers chauffeurs today. I truly appreciate your kindness. Thank you also to Bonnie Winfrey for suggesting GDCO as a talent for the event . Thank you to a the GDCO supprters who either came to the event or watched the live stream! And lastly , thank you to Easterseals (Joliet Region) for having GDCO to dance for such a worthy cause…
