It’s the first weekend of September, and our Chamber members have plenty happening! Shop local, enjoy one of our beautiful community spaces, learn a little history, or spend some time giving back.

● Panacea Community Garden Farmers Market

Our members at Visit Panacea (Panacea Waterfronts Florida Partnership) are bringing the Farmers Market back for the first Saturday of the month! Stop by for locally grown and made products and support local vendors.

• The Lodge at Wakulla Springs, 550 Wakulla Park Drive
Our members at The Lodge at Wakulla Springs are filling the lawn with local artists and makers! Spend some time under the oaks browsing jewelry, pottery, art, home goods and more.

● Operation Market Garden: A Bridge Too Far Special Exhibit

• Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum, 1873 Highway 98 West, Carrabelle
Our members at Camp Gordon Johnston Museum
have a new special exhibit highlighting Operation Market Garden and the people, aircraft and history behind the WWII operation. Admission is free, and the exhibit continues through October 3.

● FlaBiz Co. Adopt-A-Road Cleanup
• 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
• Meet at Rybak Realty, 734 Shadeville Road, Crawfordville
Our members at Fla-BizCo are inviting the community to join them for their Adopt-A-Road cleanup along Shadeville Road. Wear closed-toe shoes, bring gloves if you have them, and come lend a hand keeping Wakulla beautiful!

• Fishing Season is Going Strong in Wakulla!
Scallop season may be winding down elsewhere, but there are still plenty of reasons to get on the water right here in Wakulla County! From scalloping to fishing opportunities along our coast, make a weekend of it, grab your gear, stop by our local businesses, fuel up, grab a bite and enjoy everything Wakulla has to offer.

Our members at Keep Wakulla County Beautiful are getting ready for International Coastal Cleanup Day with their Trash to Tide Recycled Art Challenge! Use found trash, recycled or reused materials to create an ocean-themed masterpiece. This weekend is a great time to start creating!

We’re excited to have Team Skinny Situation Charters signed up for The Wakulla Chamber Classic!

They may spend a lot of time on the water, but we happen to know there are some pretty serious golfers on this team too. We can’t wait to see what happens when they hit the course at Wakulla Sands on November 19!

We’re excited to welcome our members at Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. to The Wakulla Chamber Classic!

It’s great to see one of our Chamber members jumping in with a team as we bring this tournament back for the first time since 2005. We can’t wait to have them out at Wakulla Sands on November 19!

September is looking pretty good in Wakulla County!

Scallop season is still open through September 24, and September also brings plenty of other opportunities to get out on the water with gag grouper, red snapper, redfish, and flounder seasons open.

For our local businesses, that means another month of boats being fueled, bait being bought, coolers being filled, meals being enjoyed, and visitors spending time right here in Wakulla County.

Whether you're heading out on the water or just looking for some fresh local seafood afterward, remember to support the Wakulla businesses that help make a day on the coast even better.

● Kids Fishing Derby
• Saturday, August 29
• Fishing begins at daylight
• Weigh-in 12:00–2:00 PM
• Woolley Park, Panacea
Our members at Visit Panacea (Panacea Waterfronts Florida Partnership) are inviting the kids out for a day of fishing! Fish anywhere in Wakulla or Franklin County, then bring your catch to Woolley Park for weigh-in. There will be trophies, prizes, educational booths, free hot dogs, drinks and snacks.
