Be Part of Cranford Theater History ✨

As we prepare to celebrate the Cranford Theater’s 100th Anniversary, we’re creating something truly special—and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Beginning Thursday, August 20, as we kick off our 100 Days to 100 Years celebration, we’ll begin collecting memories and keepsakes for our Centennial Time Capsule.

This time capsule will be sealed and buried during our 100th Anniversary celebration in November, preserving the stories of today’s community for future generations to discover.

We invite you to contribute something meaningful, such as:
🎬 A favorite memory of the Cranford Theater
❤️ A “Love Letter to the Theater” sharing what it means to you
📸 A photograph taken at the theater
✉️ A handwritten note or card
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A family memory or tradition connected to the movies
🎟️ A drawing, children’s artwork, or special keepsake (small items only)

Whether you’ve been coming here for decades, celebrated a birthday, had your first date, introduced your children to the magic of the movies, or simply enjoy escaping into a great film, your story is part of the Cranford Theater’s history.

Collection begins August 20 during our 100 Days to 100 Years celebration and will continue through the fall before the time capsule is sealed in November.

One hundred years ago, this theater became a gathering place for our community. Today, you have the opportunity to leave a message for those who will walk through these doors 100 years from now.

Thank you for helping us preserve not just the history of a building—but the memories, traditions, and community that have made the Cranford Theater so special for generations.

💛 I am incredibly grateful to have celebrated our Natalia’s 5th birthday at the Cranford Theater.

Hosting my little girl’s birthday at the theater is something I have dreamed about since I first knew I would have a child of my own. Seeing the theater filled with so much love, laughter and Minions made the day even more special than I could have imagined.

A heartfelt thank-you to our incredible theater staff, who treat Natalia like their own little sister. They put so much love and hard work into making her day unforgettable, and I am beyond grateful for each of them.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who celebrated with us and made Natalia feel so loved. Watching her enjoy this special day in a place that means so much to our family is a memory I will treasure forever. Happy 5th birthday to our sweet Natalia! 💛💙🎉

Last night marked the official kickoff of our “100 Days to 100 Years” celebration and the beginning of our time capsule collection! Families enjoyed face painting, temporary tattoos, balloon animals, and photos with Paddington before joining us for a special screening of Paddington 2. 🧸

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special—despite the rain! We’re incredibly grateful to have such a wonderful community celebrating this historic milestone with us. ❤️🍿🎬

🇮🇹 Passport to the Movies: International Film Series – Italy 🎬

Join us as we continue our Passport to the Movies series with a celebration of Italian cinema. Curated by Gerard Amsellem, former President of the Alliance Française of Princeton, this series showcases three of Italy’s most influential and celebrated films. Each screening is followed by a thoughtful discussion led by Gerard, exploring the film’s history, themes, and lasting impact.

Today was a wonderful reminder of what our community is capable of when we come together.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to our Toy Drive in support of the children at Children’s Specialized Hospital. Because of your generosity, we were able to collect so many wonderful toys that will help bring smiles, comfort, and a little extra joy to children who need it most.

A very special thank you to the incredible nurses from Children’s Specialized Hospital who stopped by the Cranford Theater to pick up the donations. It was an honor to welcome you, and we are so grateful for the compassionate care you provide to children and their families each and every day.

To everyone who donated, shared our drive, or helped spread the word—thank you for making a difference. Together, we are helping bring our community together not only through movies, but through kindness and compassion. ❤️🎬🧸
